University Research and Education Foundation

The University Research and Education Foundation (UREF) is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit educational foundation that supports the mission of the University of Health Sciences Antigua (UHSA) in promoting education, service, and research in the healthcare field.

Under US law UREF can solicit tax-free donations for all planned humanitarian and educational efforts.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the University Research and Education Foundation (UREF) can be summarized in the following four bullet points:

1. Support educational initiatives: UREF aims to support and promote educational initiatives in the healthcare field, focusing on medical education. It seeks to provide resources, funding, and opportunities that enhance learning and skill development for the next generation of healthcare professionals.

2. Foster research advancements: UREF is dedicated to fostering research advancements in healthcare. It encourages and facilitates research activities that contribute to understanding, preventing, and treating diseases, as well as improving healthcare systems and practices.

3. Empower student success: UREF recognizes the importance of student success in healthcare education. It strives to empower students by providing scholarships, grants, and other forms of support that help alleviate financial burdens and enable access to quality education, ultimately preparing them for successful careers in healthcare.

4. Advocate for healthcare education: UREF seeks to be a transformative leader and advocate for healthcare education. It aims to raise awareness about the significance of healthcare education, promote equal access to educational opportunities, and advocate for policies and initiatives that enhance the quality and availability of healthcare education globally.
